Terms of Service
Last updated: April 16, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Rigel platform at rigelsignal.com (the "Service") operated by Rigel ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract in your jurisdiction. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
- Notify us immediately at support@rigelsignal.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
- One person may hold only one candidate account. Recruiters may hold separate accounts per organization they represent.
3. The Service
Rigel matches candidates to jobs using structured, skills-first scoring. The Service is provided "as is" and we make no guarantees about matches, job outcomes, hiring outcomes, or the availability of any particular role or candidate.
4. Candidate users
- You represent that your CV and profile contain truthful, accurate information about your own experience, education, and skills.
- You grant Rigel a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process your CV and profile for the purpose of operating the Service, including showing anonymized or identified excerpts to recruiters as part of matching.
- You retain ownership of your CV and profile content.
- You may delete your profile at any time.
5. Recruiter users
- You represent that you have authority to post jobs on behalf of your organization.
- Jobs you post must be real, legal, and not discriminatory. No unpaid work except bona fide internships compliant with applicable labor law.
- You will not use the Service to circumvent anti-discrimination laws. Rigel is designed to reduce bias, but does not replace your legal obligations as an employer.
- You will not attempt to de-anonymize candidates outside the mutually-opted-in reveal flow.
- You will not scrape, resell, or redistribute candidate data.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload false, misleading, defamatory, infringing, or illegal content.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or probe the Service or its scoring algorithms.
- Use bots, scrapers, or automation against the Service without our written permission.
- Harass, spam, or send unsolicited messages to other users.
- Use the Service to collect personal data about other users outside normal use.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service.
7. Fees
The Service is currently free for candidates. Recruiter pricing is communicated separately in your organization's subscription agreement. We may introduce or change fees with at least 30 days' notice.
8. Intellectual property
- The Service — including the site, scoring engine, design, and documentation — is owned by Rigel and protected by intellectual property law.
- You retain ownership of content you submit (CV, profile, job posts). You grant us the license described in Sections 4 and 5 for the purpose of operating the Service.
- Aggregated, de-identified data about matching outcomes may be used to improve the Service.
9. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform, Vercel, and others). Those providers have their own terms. We are not responsible for the availability or performance of third-party services.
10. Termination
- You may terminate your account at any time from Settings or by emailing support.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or if required by law. Where reasonable, we will notify you first.
- Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, disputes) will survive.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that matches will lead to hiring, that the Service will be uninterrupted, or that it will be error-free.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rigel, its affiliates, and personnel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability for direct damages is limited to the greater of (a) fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) USD $100.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rigel from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
